Engine Tuning also known as Engine Control Unit (ECU) tuning
Our maps are proven time and time again as reliable and effective. Even though we can offer incredible gains in power and torque, we also believe in safe and sensible tuning – that’s why our customers return time and time again. All original maps are backed up on a dedicated server allowing the vehicle to be reverted back to the original format at any point in the future.
Before carrying out any remapping we always carry out a full diagnostic health check to ensure the vehicle is in the correct state of health and no current engine issues are present. Economy ECU Tuning
Increasingly popular with rising fuel prices, we are able to re-calibrate the ECU data to improve fuel efficiency. The increase in torque will allow less gear changes and accelerator pedal movement thus resulting in improved fuel efficiency and driveability.
Stage 1 ECU Tuning
Designed for a standard and unmodified vehicle with no hardware upgrades. A Stage 1 Remap increases power and torque while also improving fuel efficiency. Removes flat spots and gives a more responsive drive without compromising reliability.
Stage 2 ECU Tuning
Bigger increase in power and torque than a Stage 1 Remap, efficiency will still improve but not as dramatically as a Stage 1 Tune. Often hardware upgrades are required before a Stage 2 Remap can be applied. Removes flat spots and gives a more responsive drive without compromising reliability.
Stage 3 ECU Tuning and above
Up-rated hardware will be required, the numerous hardware additions require a fully bespoke remap carried out on our rolling road where parameters can be monitored in a safe and reliable way. There are exceptions to this, where Stage 3 and above development has already been carried out on your specific vehicle. Please contact us with your spec list and we can provide a custom quote and offer advice on the required hardware upgrades.
Gearbox Tuning also known as Transmission Control Unit (TCU) tuning
Direct-shift gearbox (DSG) (a.k.a. dual-clutch gearbox) has a TCU, similar to the ECU, which controls the operation of the transmission e.g. gear shift and torque limitation. The TCU and the ECU communicate by sending and receiving real time data across the vehicles network system. When an ECU remapped, a TCU tune is also recommended as this ensures both control units continue to work in harmony which will help to keep the system in check. This helps to fully optimize the performance and drivability of the vehicle.
One of the primary functions of a DSG TCU tune is to allow more torque to be transferred through the Engine and Transmission which results in more power and torque throughout the entire rev range. There are many other functions that can also be modified to improve the overall driving experience:

- Torque Limiters
- Hydraulic Pressure
- Shift Points
- and many more
That being said, not all TCUs will need to be tuned and not all TCUs can be tuned. It really depends on the application and the desired performance.
Drivability DSG Tune
Highly recommended upgrade for almost all VAG cars for improving drivability and lifespan. There are actually quite a lot of known DSG drivability and durability issues from factory which could be solved with this tune.
Stage 1 DSG Tune
Recommended for mild tuned vehicles for raising necessary torque limiters.
Stage 2 DSG Tune
For increasing gearbox performance, such as launching, acceleration, upshifting and down shifting. This tune mainly focuses on performance, and does not include drivability features.
Stage 2+ DSG Tune
An all-in-one package for improving performance, as well as all drivability and durability features. Suitable for mild and strong tuned vehicles.
Stage 3 DSG Tune
Suitable for high performance applications. The unique software modifications allow for extremely high clutch pressures which results in high stock clutch torque capacities. All drivability, durability, and reliability will still remain. Suitable for strong tuned vehicles.
Stage 4 DSG Tune
Suitable for strong tuned vehicles for race applications with aftermarket DSG race hardware upgrade like race clutches and gearbox conversions. Includes all Stage 3 features and other custom racing clutch calibrations, gearset calibrations, race features, and conversion solutions.
