Squad Workshop Skoda Octavia 100k Refresh

At Squad Workshop, this Skoda Octavia 1.4 TSI came in for a complete 100,000 km refresh. The goal — restore smooth performance, improve reliability, and prepare the car for many more years of driving.

Engine Cooling & Timing System

Our technicians replaced the original water pump, thermostat, and water pump belt. This prevents overheating and ensures consistent coolant flow.
The OEM timing belt and tensioner were also renewed. A fresh timing kit protects the engine from potential belt failure and costly internal damage.

Carbon & Ignition System Cleaning

We performed walnut blasting and injector cleaning to remove carbon buildup from the intake valves. This process improves throttle response, fuel economy, and overall engine efficiency.
To complete the refresh, the car received original spark plugs and ignition coils. Fresh ignition components deliver stronger spark, smoother idling, and cleaner combustion.

Braking & Suspension Upgrades

Braking was improved with Dixcel M front and rear brake pads and Goodridge steel braided brake hoses. Together, they give a firmer brake feel and better consistency under heat.
For suspension, we installed a Bilstein B12 Pro-Kit complete with top mounts, bearings, sleeves, and bump stops. The new setup enhances comfort, control, and stability.

Geometry & Traction Enhancement

We added a roll center adjuster to correct the suspension geometry affected by lowering. This upgrade improves traction, reduces body roll, and increases cornering stability.
Finally, new engine and gearbox mounts were fitted to reduce vibration and restore driveline refinement.

Result

The refreshed Octavia now drives smoother, stops sharper, and handles with confidence. Every part was installed and torqued to spec. Another Skoda Octavia 1.4 TSI is ready to take on the next 100,000 km — proudly serviced at Squad Workshop, Singapore’s highly rated car specialist. Squad Workshop Skoda Octavia 100k Refresh

Q1: What is included in a 100k refresh for the Skoda Octavia 1.4?

A1: The 100k refresh includes timing belt and tensioner replacement, water pump and thermostat renewal, ignition components, intake cleaning, and suspension service for reliability.

Q2: Why perform walnut blasting at 100,000 km?

A2: Walnut blasting removes carbon deposits from the intake valves, improving throttle response, fuel economy, and engine smoothness.

Q3: What benefits come from upgrading to Bilstein B12 Pro-Kit suspension?

A3: It improves cornering stability, comfort, and ride control — ideal for Singapore’s road conditions while keeping daily comfort.

Q4: How long does a 100k service take?

A4: Typically 1–2 days, depending on scope and part availability.

Q5: Does Squad Workshop use original parts?

A5: Yes, we use both genuine or OEM parts, and provide options based on the customer’s preference and requirements.

Q6: Why add a roll center adjuster?

A6: When a car is lowered, suspension geometry changes. A roll center adjuster corrects this geometry to improve traction, stability, and steering response.

Q7: Why upgrade to Goodridge steel braided brake hoses?

A7: These hoses provide a firmer brake pedal feel and reduce expansion under heat — improving braking consistency during spirited or long drives.
