This post covers a complete Toyota Vellfire 90k service at Squad Workshop, performed right after the owner purchased the car with unknown history. At our highly rated specialist car workshop in Singapore, we carried out a major 90,000km service to restore reliability and ensure safe operation.

Toyota Vellfire 90,000km Major Service at Squad Workshop, Singapore

Engine Servicing

We replaced the engine oil and installed a new oil filter. During inspection, we discovered the oil filter housing was severely over-torqued by the previous workshop: normal torque is ~25Nm, but even at 100Nm our torque wrench couldn’t break it loose.
This level of over-tightening can crack the housing, but fortunately it was removed safely without damage.

✔ CVT Gearbox Servicing

The CVT transmission fluid was drained and was extremely dark and dusty purple (See video): a clear sign it had not been changed for a long time. Fresh CVT fluid was installed, and the difference in smoothness was immediately felt by the owner.

✔ Spark Plug Replacement

Old spark plugs were replaced to restore proper combustion, reduce fuel consumption, and improve starting reliability.

Air-Con Flush

A full air-con flush was carried out to improve cooling performance and remove debris or old oil in the AC lines.

✔ Comprehensive Wear-and-Tear Check

We inspected suspension parts, bushings, bearings, belts, and hoses to ensure the newly purchased Vellfire is safe for long-term use.

Fresh fluid and correct servicing make a noticeable difference in performance and drivability. At Squad Workshop, we use manufacturer-correct fluids and torque specifications for all vehicles, including Toyota and Vellfire models.

If you’ve just bought a used car, a proper 90k service is essential for reliability and safety.

1. Why should I service my Toyota Vellfire right after buying it?

When service history is unknown, wear items like CVT fluid, engine oil, spark plugs and AC systems may be overdue. A full check prevents breakdowns and ensures long-term reliability.

2. What happens if the oil filter housing is over-tightened?

Over-tightening can crack the housing, cause leaks, or make future servicing impossible. At Squad Workshop we use proper torque to protect your engine.

3. How do I know if my CVT fluid needs changing?

Dark, burnt-smelling, or purple-brown fluid indicates poor condition. Fresh CVT fluid improves smoothness, prevents judder, and extends gearbox life.

4. Why is spark plug replacement important at 90,000km?

Worn spark plugs cause misfiring, poor fuel economy, and hard starts. Replacing them restores smooth performance.

5. Why choose Squad Workshop for Vellfire servicing?

We are a highly rated car workshop specialising in Japanese and continental cars. Our technicians follow proper torque procedures, use specialist tools, and provide transparent diagnostics.
